Amnesty International Maastricht Students

What..
We show Human-Rights-Related documentaries at the filmtheatre Lumiere and try to raise some awareness for these issues.

How..
We cooperate with Amnesty International Amsterdam and their Film Festival Team. We ask them for certain movies or they send us from time to time suggestions about movies worth watching / screening.

We decide about which ones to show with the group, inform ourselves about the topic, watch them and discuss the involved issues.

We work together with the filmtheatre Lumiere and promote the movies we are showing by designing flyers and posters, through announcements during lectures and distribute information material.

Screening..
We try to be present at each screening with at least two members of the subgroup to give an introduction to the topic. Afterwards, we ask people to stay for a cafe and have a chat.

We invite experts from the different institutions/faculties of the UM or Amnesty International to discuss the topic in more depth and frequently serve traditional food from the region the movie is about.

We include different AI actions such as petitions, photo action and so on in our activities.
